NCCC-2020 aims to promote the outstanding research, latest innovations and trending technologies Climate Change, Environmental Science. It establishes a multi-disciplinary forum to discuss and generates the analysis to understand the global trends as well as the regional and local trends around the world. NCCC-2020 is designed with a keynote presentation by expert scientists and researchers who share their expertise and provides their reviews and opinions on trending technologies, Oral presentations in various disciplines and sub-disciplines of Climate Change and Environmental Science. In addition NCCC-2020 provides poster presentation opportunity to junior scientists and graduate students, which stands as an ultimate platform to build their research carrier and to learn from experts.
Portending process of climate change, induced by the anthropogenic accumulations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are likely to generate effects that will cascade through the biosphere, impacting all life on earth and bearing upon human endeavors. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all and achieving this by 2030 becomes questionable due to the adverse impacts of climate change. The 17 Goals are all interconnected for transforming our world. They recognize that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and environmental protection.
In anticipation of these effects due to climate change and urge to achieve targets under 17 SDGs with 230 indicators (Report of the Inter-Agency and Expert Group on Sustainable Development Goal Indicators), researchers widen their field of vision and collaborate across disciplines to encompass increasingly complex interactions. Trans-disciplinary cooperation should aim to generate effective responses to the evolving risks, including actions to mitigate the emissions of greenhouse gases and to adapt to those climate changes that cannot be avoided.
This conference will provide an opportunity to participants exposition of current research on the impacts, adaptation, and mitigation of climate change in relation to agro-ecosystems, forest-ecosystems, coastal-ecosystems. This is the first climate conference being organized by Centre of Excellence for Environment, Climate Change and Public Health (CoE-ECCPH) of Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. Depending on the response, the CoE-ECCPH intends to bring out a series of the publication dedicated to elucidating the interactions of climate change with a broad range of sectors and systems, and to developing and spurring effective responses to this global challenge. Participants of the National Conference will have scope to get associated and receive facilitation support from CoE-ECCPH for taking up more research work in their respective areas of interest.
As the collective scientific and practical knowledge of the processes and responses involved in climate change and its impacts on vulnerable sectors continue to grow, CoE-ECCPH, Utkal University will address important aspects of the topic periodically over the coming years by organizing more conferences and making more documentation.
